This work is the result of a collaboration between two
writers-in-residence (online) ...
The Australian Network for Art and Technology, as a joint initiative with the Adelaide-based Electronic Writing and Research Ensemble commissioned Perth-based writer, Josephine Wilson and Brisbane-based writer, Linda Carroli to undertake online residencies for a period of eight weeks in late 1997. The writers worked collaboratively online to produce hypertext, with the intention of producing cross-disciplinary work. The Perth Institute of Contemporary Art and the Institute of Modern Art supplied the venues, technology and resources for the residencies. *water was launched in March 1998 in both Brisbane and Perth.
*water writes always in *plural was funded by the New Media Arts Fund of the Australia Council.
