Point U.S. Military Academy,
situated on the banks of the Hudson River, 50 miles north
of Manhattan in New York State. Following investigations
into the U.S.
Army Civil Affairs and Psychological Operations Command
(PSYOP) based at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, the assignment
at West Point is part of an investigation into early forms
of audio hypnosis or silent
altering the brain's EEG patterns, used for military purposes.

Hotel receptionist, Brodsky learns that in 1939 the
Military Academy was used as the setting for the witch's
scene in the filming of 'The Wizard of Oz'.
West Point site was selected for the construction of a fort
by George Washington, and the fortifications were designed
in 1778 by Tadeusz Kosciuszko.
Douglas MacArthur (1880-1964), commander of US forces in
war, was a West Point man:
June 13, 1899 - appointed as a Cadet at the United States
Military Academy, West Point, New York
June 1903 - Graduates first in his class
April 1908: Appointed as Commanding Officer, Company K,
3rd Battalion of Engineers. Later that year becomes an instructor
at the Mounted Service School, Fort Riley, Kansas.
February 1911: Promoted to Captain and serves as the Officer-in-Charge
of the Engineering Depot at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.
June 1919: Becomes the Superintendent of the US Military
Academy, West Point
1926 - 1927: Serves as 3rd Corps Commander, based in Baltimore,
July 8, 1950: Following
the invasion of North Korea into South Korea, MacArthur
is named Commander of all United Nations forces in Korea.
May 12, 1962 - Gives famous Duty, Honor, Country valedictory
speech at West Point.
