I came back...|
29 July 1996
Reuters: Immigration Department officials from the Working Group on Cultural Aliens at Adelaide International Airport recently released a 34 year Australian woman back into the local community after a self imposed exile of nine years. The woman, whose identity is suppressed (after so many years of living amongst the English), wasn't able to explain herself at all.
Many people imagined it must have been very exciting living abroad, and asked whether I would go back? I wanted to shout...|
"It wasn't a dream, it was a place, a real live place. All I kept saying to everybody was that I want to go home and I'm not going to leave here ever again because I love you all. There's no place like home, there's no place like home, there's no place like home, there's no place like home..."
